Supreme Court Issues Rulings

In the 4% deductions case, the Supreme Court held that the Legislature has the authority to impose these deductions, therefore the Court of Appeals decision is reversed, and the deductions stand.  Multiple opinions, but a 4 to 3 majority for this decision.

Similar result in Right to Work: They ruled 4 to 3 that the Legislature, not the Commission, has the authority to impose Right To Work, hence it stands.  No direct impact on MAGE or its members, since our members unlike the 4 percent deductions case.

Our legal team is reviewing this decision,  more information will follow.
