Civil Service Commission Approves Pay Increases for FY 16/17

Civil Service Commission Meeting December 16, 2015

In addition to requesting a 4% direct wage increase, shift preference for corrections shift supervisors, and a special promotion incentive for supervisors, MAGE also requested a special wage increase for RN supervisors.

The commission approve a 1 % pay increase and a 1.5 % lump sum which is the same as already agreed to by the five State Employee Unions.

Also testifying on MAGE's behalf were the Director of Nursing form Hawthorne Center Carolyn Madding, and Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital Registered Nurse Supervisors Bobbie Tigues and Cassandra Craig.  The commission responded to this testimony by mandating that the DHHS and the Office of the State Employer meet with MAGE to seek resolution to the recruitment/retention and mandatory overtime concerns raised by MAGE.

Additionally, the commission has approved MAGE's request through the Coordinated Compensation Process to extend the definition of immediate family to include grandchildren.  Click here to see the revised policy.

We will be sure to post future updates here.
